UG researchers again on the list of the most cited scientists in the world

Once again, researchers from the University of Gdańsk have been included in Stanford University's prestigious list of scientists with the highest number of citations in the world, TOP 2%. The list comprises the names of the top 2% of scientists whose publications are most frequently cited by other authors.

Stanford University produces two versions of the ranking. The first takes into account the achievements of a scientist's entire career, while the second relates to citations from a given calendar year.

Developed by Stanford University in collaboration with the publisher Elsevier and the company SciTech Strategies, the ranking assesses the entire scientific output of individual scholars according to a bibliometric index. The list includes more than 100,000 scientists, who were evaluated according to criteria such as the Hirsch index, the number of independent citations or the place and role of the author among co-authors.
