Success of graduates of the UG Faculty of Law and Administration in application exams

As many as 80.5% of graduates of the Faculty of Law and Administration passed the entrance exams for legal applications. This is the third result in the country among all universities educating future lawyers. The data was announced by the Ministry of Justice.

The examinations took place on 27 September 2025, and the annual analysis is prepared by the Legal Professions Department of the Ministry of Justice. The results were announced during the 16th edition of the Conference of the Minister of Justice with the Deans of Law Faculties of public and private universities.

Graduates of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Gdańsk achieved a very high result - 80.5% successfully passed the exam for the bar, legal advisor, notary or bailiff. This is the third highest result in the country, just behind graduates of the Jagiellonian University (88.9%) and the University of Warsaw (83.3%). The University of Gdańsk outperformed, among others, the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (80.4%) and many other academic centres.

‘The results of the legal training programme entrance exams once again confirm the strong position of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Gdańsk, which has been at the forefront of universities in terms of pass rates for many years,’ says the Dean of the Faculty, dr hab. Wojciech Zalewski, prof. UG. 'This is the result of consistent teaching and organisational work, as well as the good scientific position of our faculty, which translates into the quality of education. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our graduates on their excellent results and thank the staff of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk for their commitment.'

In 2025, graduates from 59 Polish universities (28 public and 31 non-public) took the exams. According to the Ministry of Justice, a total of 5,317 people took the entrance exams for the bar, legal advisor, notary and bailiff programmes in 2025. A total of 3,658 people passed the exams, i.e. 68.8% of candidates. Of the 5,833 law graduates who completed their studies in 2025, 2,853 took the exams. The analysis shows that graduates' interest in training programmes is growing for another year in a row, reaching 49.2%.

This result confirms the high quality of legal education at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk and the excellent preparation of students for professions of public trust.
