The second ASA Academic League Final Four in history is now behind us. During the competition, which took place on 12-14 December 2025 in Krakow, the volleyball players of JohnnyBros ASA University of Gdańsk achieved historic success, winning gold medals! Coach Adam Miotek's players did not lose a single match during the qualifiers.

In order to reach the grand final, the University of Gdańsk volleyball players had to qualify in the semi-finals. In two tournaments held at the COSA ASA facilities in Górki Zachodnie, Adam Miotek's players won all eight matches, leaving no illusions for their rivals from Poznań, Olsztyn and Gdańsk.

In the Final Four, in their first match, the JohnnyBros ASA UG volleyball players defeated ASA UKW Bydgoszcz 3:0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-18) and advanced to the grand final.

In the gold medal match, our players again defeated ASA UBB Bielsko-Biała 3:0 (25:12, 25:16, 25:18) in three sets.

Coach Adam Miotk commented on the success in Krakow: ‘The Final Four tournament of the ASA Academic League is organised at a very high level, which is why every team dreams of participating in these competitions. From the beginning of the qualifiers, there was only one goal - to advance to the grand final of the best teams in the league and fight for medals.’ My players were in excellent form, winning all their matches, which earned us the coveted ticket to Krakow, where we could compete with the other winners of the qualifiers.

I felt that we would play a good tournament in Krakow, but I did not expect to win two matches against very strong teams without losing a set. The victory in the Final Four is the result of the hard, daily work of the entire team and the coaching staff working with the JohnnyBros ASA UG team. I would like to thank my university for its support, and I would also like to thank the players, of whom I am extremely proud - and I believe that the entire academic community shares this feeling. I would also like to congratulate the other teams on winning medals.’

‘This success shows that we chose the right direction a few years ago. Thanks to the cooperation between ASA University of Gdańsk and the Trefl Volleyball Academy and the support of JohnnyBros, we can be confident about the development of academic volleyball at the University,’ comments President of ASA University of Gdańsk Piotr Walczak. ‘When creating the volleyball project at the University of Gdańsk, we registered the JohnnyBros ASA University of Gdańsk team for the second league competition, emphasising that the DNA of this team is to be “academic”. This success is the result of the hard work of the players, the coaching staff, but also of everyone who supports us in the development of academic volleyball. We would like to express our special thanks to the university authorities and the sponsor JohnnyBros for their support.’

The ASA Academic League was organised by the Academic Sports Association. The project was co-financed by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
