Courses for foreign students

Foreign students can study at the University of Gdańsk either in the Polish or in the English language. The university offers intensive preparatory courses enabling foreign students to study in these languages and, as the only university in Poland, possesses a programme for teaching Polish to foreign students through e-learning. 

The range of courses in Polish includes 37 fields of study (Bachelor’s and Master’s degree) and over 140 specializations in 11 Faculties. 

The University of Gdańsk offers the following fields of study conducted entirely in English:

Special courses designed for foreign students planning to undertake studies at the University of Gdańsk:

Intensive Introductory Course for Foreign Students in English – anintensive course preparing for studies conducted in English:

  • one-year course (2 semesters), beginning in October each year,

  • half-year course (1 semester), beginning in February each year.

Polish language and culture for foreign students – an intensive year-long course for students preparing to study in Polish.

Applications of foreign students who are from outside the European Union and who wish to study on the basis of payment in a foreign currency are dealt with by the Foreign Students’ Office of the University of Gdańsk.
